NEW FACILITY

Our new facility is located on a gorgeous hilltop overlooking the Bristol Hills. We have acres of grassy pastures and woodlands. The facility includes a nine stall barn with a heated tack room, wash stall and run-in sheds. The grounds have eight pastures with shade trees for the horses. We also have a groomed trail on the property with an additional 75 acres of trails bordering our lands to ride on. Our new facility is a dream come true, as we had been searching for the perfect sized farm and we found it.

Riding and Breeding

Our private barn, and facility is the perfect place for our friends and family to gather for riding enjoyment and fun.
As a breeding farm, we enjoy raising our own ponies and handling our babies from birth. Each baby is imprinted, and loved by all that come to Hickory Springs. We take our time raising them to be not only people friendly, but herd savvy by being turned out with the herd daily. Our ponies are outdoors as much as possible, allowing them to be free to roam, graze and bond with their herd.
We pride ourselves in having some of the nicest imported and domestic bred Registered Welsh Ponies here at Hickory Springs.
Below is a picture of Malibu Bleu our newest colt sired by none other than Gaslight Brecon, our top notch Welsh Mountain Pony stallion and out of our imported mare, Baledon Almond Blossom.

OUR HISTORY

The first pony to arrive at the stud was Rosmel's Strawberry Fizz, a beautiful Section B roan filly. Soon to follow was a flashy Section A bay colt, Gaslight's Brecon and a quality Section A chestnut filly, Dandardel's Baby Doll.

Over the past few years, outside stallions such as Morton's Best Man and Telynau Royal Charter have been incorporated into our breeding program, enhancing our herd. We are proud of our stallions, Telynau Grand Slam and Gaslight Brecon (son of Ceulan Lwycus, Stallion of the year for 2008) who now produce lovely foals for us here at Hickory Springs.

Nine foals have been born at Hickory Springs, four colts and five fillies. A fine colt (Hickory Springs Royal Courier) sired by Telynau Royal Charter was born in 2004 and was sold to a show home. Our first foal sired by our very own Gaslight's Brecon was born in May 2005. Hickory Springs Donnachaidh ("Duncan"), a beautiful red roan like his dam is now owned by a wonderful family in Missouri. Brecon had his second foal on the ground in spring 2007, a lovely bay filly, Hickory Springs Bailee Rae. And once again, Brecon has produced a lovely chestnut filly, Glory Bound out of our lovely Arabian mare, Chloe this past March 2009.

In December 2005, we improved our breeding program by importing Telynau Diana, a gorgeous chesnut filly, and Telynau Grand Slam, a stunning black colt with beautiful markings from the Telynau Stud in England. Grand Slam and Diana have been retained for our breeding program. Grand Slam has his very first foals on the ground as of April 2009, a lovely bay filly and a gorgeous red roan colt! We have also purchased Tide Creek Amigoand Tide Creek Amazing Grace, two striking buckskins, for our breeding program. We included a lovely black bay filly from Morton's Stables in Canada for our breeding program as well. This lovely filly has a supurb rating as a registered sport pony. We are thrilled to have obtained such outstanding Welsh Ponies at Hickory Springs for our specialized breeding program.
