Rosmel's Strawberry Fizz is our foundation mare. Purchased in 2001, this flashy section B, liver chestnut roan mare is worth her weight in gold. Her dam, Rosmel's Rachelea, sired by WPCSA Sire Legion of Merit GlanNant Tango, is a champion in hand. Rachelea is a full sister to champion Rosmel's Raphael and Rosmel's Michelangelo. Strawberry Fizz's sire is Rosmel's Bey Cracker, a large 14.2 dark bay son of Champion Rosmels Cotillion.
This long line of great champions includes GlanNant Tango's sire, Cusop Sheriff and Criban Victor, five time National Champion of Wales. Tango's dam, Duntulms Two Step is a daughter of Champion Coed Coch Ballog.
Strawberry Fizz has also been entered in "A" rated competitions placing first in Fillies under Two years of age, and taking Reserve Champion at the same show. She has always placed in the top three in each event she has been entered in prior to becoming a brood mare.
We are fortunate to have obtained such a high quality dam for our breeding program. To date, Fizz has produced three beautiful foals for Hickory Springs: a bay filly, Hickory Springs Juniper Breeze (Breeze), a chestnut colt, Hickory Springs Royal Courier (Tristan) and a liver chestnut roan colt, Hickory Springs Donnacaidh (Duncan). Fizz is a loving, nurturing mother with an inquisitive mind and a gentle disposition. As our foundation mare, she will continue to produce quality foals at our stud. Rosmel Strawberry Fizz is currently confirmed in foal for an April 2009 foal for us. This foal is sired by our very own, Telynau Grand Slam, a gorgeous black section B stallion imported from the renowned Telynau Stud, Wales England.
